General Merlot is a supporting character in Fuga: Melodies of Steel.

Biography

Merlot is the Supreme Commander of the Gasco Army. He seems gruff, hot-blooded, and inflexible, but is actually gentle and has a strong sense of justice. He constantly chomps on a bone.

Merlot is a heavy-set Caninu with no specific breed. Due to his old age, his fur flares out in a beard-like fashion and has quite the tail. He wears a formal military outfit representing his stance in the Gasco Army.

Trivia

  • Merlot's name is derived from a dark wine grape of the same name.
  • In Fuga 1, under very strange and specific circumstances, a child going into standby with another losing their Hero Mode skill in the same turn can cause the latter's name to be briefly replaced with "General Merlot" in the Hero Mode's text box. This could very well be leftover data that will be recycled for Fuga
  • Continuing the food based naming convention that many characters in Fuga have, "Merlot" is a type of French red wine.
