Lieutenant Colonel Flam Kish is a key member of the Berman Empire and the third major boss in Fuga: Melodies of Steel.

Biography

As Pretzel's adopted daughter, Kish highly respected him as her father and as a soldier. To avoid disappointing him, she approached her military duty with ruthless urgency. She was exceptionally vindictive.

Flam was a Doberman Caninu fully dressed in red and black attire. Her overall appearance showed that she asserted militant dominance. She was equipped with a long whip, a communication device, and a handgun. She had long pink hair which stands out against her dreary & threatening color scheme.

Once she hit maturity and became a Berman soldier, Flam took it upon herself to crop her ears which resulted in large scars. She felt that these scars are part of her connection with Pretzel.[1][2]

History

Fuga: Melodies of Steel

Flam was adopted by Colonel Pretzel at the age of 12 soon after becoming an orphan. While the two were together as father and daughter, he taught her academics, strategy, tactics, and her entire ideology. This bond they shared is something Flam holds extremely dear and she aims to stay loyal to the Berman Empire in his honor.

Before Pretzel's death, Flam wrote a letter informing him that she'd been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Despite her beginning to show some insecurities over being ashamed, even signing herself off as "foolish", she still showed excitement of joining her adopted father on the battlefield. After Pretzel's death, she would take over the Shetland mine and execute Jin Macchiato's father due to him refusing to cooperate (though this execution was mostly an excuse to let off steam following her father's death). Even though she retained her more violent mannerisms after the execution, her notes reveal that she felt regret and confusion over her actions. Jin flees the factory shortly afterwards, eventually meeting up with the other children and returning to the factory.

When the children aboard the Taranis arrive at Shetland as part of their rescue mission, both Kish and Jin have a spat over their deceased fathers before going to war on each other, with Kish fighting the Taranis on her own command tank, the Swanhild. Kish's entire motivation from this point forward is to avenge Pretzel. After defeat, her blood boils further and prepares for the next time she faces them.

Later on, Kish is informed of the Taranis's arrival to Mastiff Central, which she volunteers to travel with Shvein Hax to and get her revenge. After being tricked into reactivating the Tarascus's core, Shvien Hax leaves and Flam stays behind to get her revenge. Despite her best efforts, she is once again defeated and survives her burning tank. Wobbling out of the flames and with a pistol in hand, she takes a single shot at the Taranis before the Swanhild explodes, seemingly incinerating her in the process. The children are both horrified by her display of vengeance and disappointed, but ultimately move on to chase after Shvein Hax.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2

Against all odds, Kish survived the Swanhild's explosion, but was left in a coma due to her near-lethal injuries. In a twist of irony, she came under the care of Jin while she recovered. She remained in that state for more than a year.

She appears in game with Jin just before he leaves to join the rest of the children in chasing Jihl and again when Jin comes back in the game's credits, with her face obscured both times.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3

Flam is confirmed to appear in the third installment of the series, having recovered from her coma. She is seen in the teaser trailer riding a motorbike.
