Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 is an upcoming tactical role-playing sequel game to 2021's Fuga: Melodies of Steel. The game was officially announced on July 15, 2022, with additional information on July 28. It is scheduled for a 2023 release on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Gameplay

Turbo Mode will be included at launch, ideal for those seeking to enter a specific story route without spending needless time. An improved battle system that revamps battle operations including airship technology will be improved for supportive actions as well, like an air strike attack, however there won't be new weapons, including supply replenishment, though further specifics have not been stated. Rings will be returning as in-game currency allowing players to buy items.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 will take place one year after the previous game’s true ending. Additionally, developer CyberConnect2 revealed that a bonus will be supplied to players who have saved data from the previous game, or alternatively a “True End” save. Moreover, the narrative is stated to be double the length of the first game’s story due to having more cutscenes, and the protagonist will still be Malt Marzipan, the main character from the previous title.

A significant story mechanic will be the Judgment System, divided between Empathy and Resolve. Featuring branching paths, and players’ choices will influence the story through the “judgement system.” These choices will appear throughout the game, with a cumulative total of your decisions affecting the story and your relationships with other characters.

Development

According to CyberConnect2 the game's development is at 60% completion.
