Trivia is a section in a video game's, book's, and most commonly a character's article that quickly lists off interesting tidbits of the subject matter that don't quite fit anywhere else in said articles.

This section has been a point of contention within multiple wikis, and here in ''Little Tail Wiki'' we attempt to thwart any issues by providing a strict set of guidelines. If an editor plans to create a trivia section, it is heavily advised that they follow the rules here.

==Listing trivia==
The trivia section should be considered a last resort for extra information on any given subject. It is not always required, but if there's anything interesting to add to an article, place it in the trivia section right before the references section. '''Information about the topic's production and development can be listed in the trivia section, but if there is enough info for a dedicated section, it should be removed from trivia and placed there.'''

List trivia in bullet points. Unless absolutely necessary for a clear explanation, each tidbit should be short and at a two-sentence maximum. Anything longer can appear cluttered and overly wordy.

==Citing trivia==
In order to provide proof to any line of trivia, please use the reference tag to cite it if possible. This is heavily encouraged as it gives all editors, administrators and even readers a reliable source of information that could come off as false if left out.

Here's an example of properly citing trivia:

==Speculation==
As detailed in the [[Little Tail Wiki:Manual of Style|Manual of Style]], speculatory writing is prohibited from both the main body and trivia section of any given article. This was a major issue with articles on our previous host and had caused false information to spread online.

If an editor is unsure of something that they plan to write down or something that is already present within the section, it is advised to do thorough research. If this isn't possible, please either contact fellow editors/admins or delete whatever "trivia" comes off as too speculative.

Overall, editors should avoid any language such as "This could mean..." or "This might be due to..." when describing trivia. Please keep things to the point and factual.

==Redundant information==
Any information considered repetitive or redundant is discouraged from being added into the trivia section. This includes character namesakes (which are already included in character infoboxes), shared voice actors, physical resemblances that are painfully obvious, and so on. The goal of the wiki is to solely serve as a resource for reliable, factual information about the series, so anything that can be deduced from plain observation should be left up to the reader rather than written in the trivia section.
 
This is especially true for secret endings to certain games, such as those in the ''Fuga'' series. Do not include anything from secret content in the trivia section.
